Linnie Greene’s photos capture the technique of ballet movement enhanced by the personality of the dancer.  The photos reflect the specialty of each dancer and the nuances he/she brings to the movement.    Greene had the wonderful privilege of attending rehearsals for Cinderella and “experiencing first-hand the heart-felt commitment, the resilience, the beauty, and love each dancer brings to the stage.  It was an eye-opening and educational opportunity. “

Each ballet performed by CBT is based on a theme taken from a Bible verse or a Biblical story.  The overall philosophy of Central Ballet School and Theatre is based on Psalm 149:3-4: Let them praise His Name with dancing; let them sing praises to Him with timbrel and lyre.  For the Lord takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the afflicted ones with salvation.

Lori Ann Sparks, Founder of Central Ballet School and Artistic Director of CBT, loves the story ballets “because the pieces are highly educational and fulfilling in the sense that they encompass every part of a dancer’s being - physical, mental, spiritual and emotional.  Dancers not only learn how to produce movement in a specific way, they learn the art of discipline, how to relate in space, and how to cooperate with others. The most important lesson is for the dancer to realize that God gives us the beautiful art of dance to glorify Him and to share His story with the community.  We strive for excellence in all we do to honor Him.”  (Please check out the website at:  http://centralballet.com/ for more information.)
